Costa Rica is worldwide recognized by its beautiful beaches. Tourists come year after year to enjoy their magnificent waters. Although Costa Rica is a small country it has 910 miles of coastline with wonderful weather conditions and warm waters. Besides, most of them are easy to reach, including that between Pacific and Caribbean coasts there is a distance of only 200 miles. Beaches can vary from rocky to sandy and even shelly, they can also have different colors of sand like white, gray, dark and pink. It depends on their locations and shapes.
There are plenty of activities to do on Costa Rican beaches, from surfing to beach volleyball, from reading a good book to horseback riding. Many hotels prepare activities to do on the beach, you can rent equipment to practice extreme sports like surfing, windsurfing, boogie board; there are diving schools and you can learn scuba diving or practice snorkeling to observe magnificent colorful fish and marine life under the water's surface. In case you prefer to exercise, you can jog, play volleyball or beach softball, fly a kite, and play frisbee, and of course at the sunset you can take a walk.
